Tomato
Tomatoes are fruits (berries) and they are harvested here in summer. They can easily be grown in a pot or in the garden. You should protect them only from direct rain, which the plants don't like. Tomatoes belong to the nightshade family.
I seldomly use tomatoes in sauces, in my view they create an unaesthetic color.
They taste best in summer, freshly harvested from your own plants. The tomatoes, that are imported in winter, often suffer from tastelessness.
Tomato plants (just like me) love the sun and need a lot of it.
Ripening instructions
You can leave them at a warm place for some time, so you can also ripen tomatoes which are harvested in fall.
Ripening indicators
They have a beautiful, juicy color (red most of the times) and smell like tomatoes.
Season
They are primarily harvested in summer until before it gets chilly.
