What do you eat as a raw vegan?
I eat raw fruits and vegetables (especially leafy greens) and now and then a small amounts nuts and seeds (if they're raw). 80% of the calories come from carbohydrates, 10% or less from fat and 10% or less from protein. (What is the 80-10-10 raw vegan lifestyle?)
When my body needs more "fuel" (for example with higher physical activity), I need more calories, but the 80-10-10 ratio doesn't change.
I don't use salt, vinegar or oils (all of those are topics for another blog entry).
What do I eat the whole day?
On a usual workday in the colder seasons I eat about 1,5kg citrus fruits (weight before pealing them) in the morning, like mandarins, clementines or oranges. At lunch I make a smoothie (about 1,6 Liters) with bananas and another fruit, like for example some apples or pears. At dinner after my training I eat one of my numerous meals, that you find here (and that's no smoothie) and a lot of lettuce.
The choice of the fruits and veggies depends on what can be bought or what is available in my garden. The season decides.
When I don't go to work, I usually skip breakfast, exercise in the morning and then have an smoothie of about two liters and a lot of lettuce with it. Dinner doesn't change.
There's nothing more beautiful than exercising with an empty stomach and then, when you're really hungry, a huge, sweet meal. <3
I try to only eat meals and no snacks. The less meals a day, the better, because then the body does't need to use that much energy for digestion. The simpler the meals the better, so that the body can concentrate on only few components during digestion. Optimal for digestion and the assimilation of nutrients would be a meal with only one component, the so-called mono-meal.
Am I really getting full with what I eat?
Yes of course, when you eat ripe and sweet fruits, until you're full. Especially important is that the stomach was empty before. Sweet fruits are digested very fast and provide you with energy immediately! There's no "deep" after eating.
